More and more people are becoming home automation fans!

A new study released by CEA has found that consumers that have purchased home automation products are satisfied with them. Adoption and Usage of Home Automation Technologies found that multi-room audio and audio/video systems have a 94 percent owner satisfaction level, while monitored security systems and security-focused home automatic/management systems have a 90 percent owner satisfaction level.

The study includes testimonials from customers who have purchased and implemented home automation systems. From providing high quality media and keeping homes energy efficient, to protecting loved ones, home automation can increase the quality of our lives at home.

On security products:

“You cannot really appreciate the amount of peace that you receive along with the security product. It’s not listed in the package but it’s obviously included. You sleep better not having to worry about a strange noise and you can relax if you are home alone or have children. Leaving your house unattended is no longer scary.”
-Female, 25-29

On home entertainment:

“Watch TV, listen to music from multiple sources. In some cases I put the TV sound through the HiFi amplifier when watching a concert or an opera. Also, the sound may get ''souped-up'' for a movie with lots of sound track creativity, such as Jurassic Park. That is what it was designed for.”
-Male, 45-49

On energy efficiency products:

“The programmable thermostat paid for itself during the first winter of use. It has since paid for itself many times over”

-Femaal, 55-59

Is Energy Efficiency the Most Popular In-Home Automation?

A new study from the Consumer Electronics Association found that energy efficiency technologies are the most popular amongst home automation options in American houses.
Programmable and/or smart thermostats beat out home security and entertainment automation for the top honor, with 47 percent of households saying they had at least one.
The findings, which come from an online survey of about 1000 people, would seem to be a win for energy efficiency. But most of the homes had programmable thermostats, which are often used incorrectly, if at all.
One study from Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory [PDF] found that 89 percent of survey respondents rarely or never used the thermostat to set a weekday or weekend program. Seventy percent were not set at all.
Programmable thermostats have been around for more than 30 years, but a new generation of smart thermostats from Wulian Smart Home enables a connection with smart phones and the Internet makes programming far easier.

Wulian’s thermostat can detect the indoor temperature via its built-in high-precision senor and adjusts the indoor temperature automatically according to user’s preset value. Besides, a remote operation through smart phone to monitor current environment data and to adjust preset is available. More fantastically, the thermostat can be linked to any other smart home devices, such as window opener, irrigation system, and heater, etc. So temperature control methods are more diverse, some of them, like opening the window to let cold wind flow in, consume no energy.

Also, Wulian’s thermostats have algorithms that can learn your household thermal characteristics and daily patterns to help fine-tune settings.

Using NFC to make your home automation easily!

If you think NFC (Near Field Communication) is only good for Google Wallet or MasterCard PayPass, think again. With the growing number of NFC-equipped phones, NFC tags are becoming an increasingly popular way to take advantage of this sprouting technology, specaily when it’s connected with wulian zigbee wireless home automation system.

Thing is, Android users aren't quite sure what to do with them.
Once you have a stack of NFC tags and installed the zigbee wireless home automation system,it's an ever-growing list of practical and unique ways to utilize NFC tags, with ideas collected from forums, Twitter, others and my own personal experience.
For a quick refresher on NFC tags, watch the video of wulian home automation system,:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZFYpO-L0zg, then read on for some NFC tag inspiration.

Using NFC tag in the situations as followings, and you will find it is so easy and convenient to your life!

Coming home
Put an NFC tag near your door and set it to do things like: open the door, decrease brightness, open your air condition etc. for example, you can write the tag to "switch," so that when you exit your house and tap the tag for the second time, it changes those settings .The same to you when leaving home.

At home
When the older people or disabled people in the house, they have no need to do it on the smart phone ,Just need to write the sence or devieces they need to the NFC tage, and make sure your zigbee home automation is working, when they want to do sth, just scan it ,so easy!

Driving in the car
Stick an NFC tag somewhere near your dashboard or middle console when you are going into your garage, scan it , and the door of garage will open, the lights will turn on, there is no need you to do it. when you are leaving, just scan anther NFC tag, all close for you, and the IR motion detector open to detect .

Home automation is essentially ideal for the technically challenged

For many, home automation is only a thing of dreams, like something in a house owned by Bill Gates. A misconception that home automation is extremely complex makes many people apprehensive, thinking that they could never own or use such a system.
But this simply isn’t true.
The truth is that home automation systems have the power to simplify everything within your home and life. For example, homeowners often struggle with technologies that don’t work together. They hate the numerous remote controls cluttering coffee tables, and the wires tangled throughout rooms, but they don’t know they have any other options. Today’s home automation technologies eliminate the confusion. Completely.
This means that home automation is essentially ideal for the technically challenged. Here is an outline of some of the reasons why:
1. Combined technologies
Many home automation systems give users the ability to combine many of their technologies, such as lighting, security, entertainment and temperature control into one system.
2. A single, simple point of control
These combined technologies can be controlled using asingle unit. This single point of control can be a remote or a home computer or iPad, iPhone or smart phone. This means a control that you already know how to use.
3. One-touch control
There is no need to fiddle with devices or cables to change from one mode of entertainment to another. If the kiddies are playing PS3 and mom and dad want to start movie night, a push of a button is all that is needed to power on the TV for movies, close the blinds and dim the lights.
4. All-room control
Home automation can be used to control technology in all rooms – so if, for example, at dinner time the children are listening to music in their own rooms, mom can simply push a single “Dinner” button and the music will be shut down and dinner announced.
5. Control on the road
Home automation is even ideal for the technically challenged on the road. Leaving your house with a sitter is no longer a matter of blind faith: using your control device you can easily check in on your security, seeing which doors are unlocked or which lights are on etc. If you see a door unlocked, no problem – just push a button to lock it from wherever you are.
6. Convenience & comfort
Home automation systems can be used to control temperature. On a hot day, remotely adjust your air conditioning from your iPad with the simple touch of button before you leave work so you come home to a cool house.
7. Simple setup and maintenance support
The technically challenged usually have concerns around setup and maintenance of a system. “Where do we start, what do we need, and what happens if something goes wrong?” A good team of installers will help you to decide on the right system for your home, and offer continued support to ensure that you never have any problems. They are just a call away.
Far from being something from a movie, home automation is a simple solution to making everyone’s lives easier, especially the technically challenged. With the right support from a home automation specialist, it is possible for anyone and everyone!
